The National Center for Learning Disabilities is offering the Anne Ford Scholarship for 2003 academic year. This scholarship provides $10,000 over four years to a promising high school senior with learning disabilities who plans to pursue a university degree.

Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation or (ELA) Grant

The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Scholarship

Youth Linc - Young Humanitarian Award
Chase and the George S. Eccles Foundation are partnering with the Utah-based non-profit YouthLINC (Youth serving the Local and International Needs Community) to provide an annual scholarship.  One overall winner will receive a
$5000 award to be used for tuition to an undergraduate or graduate student.  Four "runners-up" will receive $1000 awards to be used for the same purpose. If you would like to apply, please follow the instructions on the YouthLINC website.

National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program
The National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program is giving 30 national scholarships in the range of $3,000 to $10,000. The Utah Chapter will also be awarding some scholarships to local students. Each scholarship may be in an amount of up to $1,500.

If you would like to apply for the national scholarships, please follow the instructions on the application. This application should be mailed to Mrs. Peggy Elliott, Chairman, National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Committee, 805 Fifth Avenue, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

If you would like to apply for the local scholarships, please complete the same application and mail it to Ron Gardner, President, National Federation of the Blind of Utah, 132 Penman Lane, Bountiful, Utah 84010.

Applicants must be legally blind and attending a post-secondary institution full-time.

ENTRY POINT a program of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), offers outstanding summer internships and semester co-ops in major companies throughout the United States, including NASA, IBM, Texas Instruments, JP Morgan Chase and others.

Entry Point is available to STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES majoring in science, engineering, mathematics, and some business fields.

Qualifying students must:
  • Be full-time undergraduate or graduate students
  • Be a Science, Math, Engineering, or Computer Science major (there are a few opportunities available for business majors)
  • Have a B-average GPA (or higher)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or have a right-to-work permit

If you meet the above criteria, you might be selected for a position this summer where you will benefit from a mentor and receive competitive pay.
