Part time positions are available for:
Program Support Staff
Availability of hourly positions are based on students' needs. The number of work hours vary on a weekly basis, which provides for a very flexibile schedule. You may decide to provide one or any of the following services: providing assistance with exam accommodations, reading printed material onto tape, assistance with assignments or research, or taking notes in class.
You must be reliable, dependable, maintain respect and confidentiality about the work done, be self-motivated, work with little supervision, and committed to attending required workshops and training sessions when needed.
Training is provided to acquaint you with CDS Program Support Staff guidelines and University Policies and Procedures.

Exam Assistance
Students who are blind, have limited vision, have difficulty reading, or who have limited use of their hands may need a reader/scribe in order to take exams.
Duties:
- Read exam exactly as written
- Write answers exactly as dictated
- Provide only the accommodations specifically listed
- Speak in a clear voice without misleading inflections
- Maintain the integrity of the exam

One-on-one assistance
Read material and assist students with preparing for exams, completing assignments or doing research.
Duties:
- Follow student's request as to what to read and/or write
- Be careful not to do the work for the student
- Maintain a professional working relationship
- Meet only on campus and in public meeting areas

Classroom Support
Students who cannot take their own notes due to their disability may need someone to take notes, or assistance in a lab room.
Duties:
- Take thorough, concise notes
- Write clearly and complete all words, do not abbreviate
- Provide notes to student at the end of each class
- As a lab assistant, follow student's instructions

Interpreters (ASL / English)
Hourly interpreting positions may be available to provide services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Hours are based on each student's needs. You must have the skill level needed to interpret at the academic level of the student's program. Interpreters must be certified either by the Utah Interpreter Program, National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). Proof of certification is required as part of the hiring process. Interpreters must follow the Interpreters Code of Professional Conduct and CDS support staff guidelines, and University Policies and Procedures.

Duties:
- Interpreting in classroom situations, labs, group discussions, meetings with faculty, and any other situations that are a part of a course
- Work with other interpreters in a team when required
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked for each student
- Be available to interpret in other situations or on an emergency basis (faculty, staff, visitors)
- Follow CDS support staff guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality about work done through CDS
- Be available to participate in workshops or meetings related to interpreter services or CDS activities
Court Reporters for Real Time Captioning
Real time captioning (RTC) may be requested by students who do not use American Sign Language or who are in course with highly technical vocabulary. Positions are hourly and based on student need. Proof of court reporting skills is required as part of the hiring process.

- Follow CDS support staff guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality about work done for CDS
